Kristen M. Watson Classes

Check out these fabulous classes with local artist Kristen M. Watson! I'm super excited about the Book Arts December classes!
  • Her website is here: kristenmwatson.com
  • The class list, for adults and children, is here.
  • More pictures of her beautiful hand-made books here.
And, of course, she does plenty of other fabulous artwork that you'll find on her site! We saw her artwork at Art Hop this year, and she was our instructor for the BVTMomsBlog Moms' Night Out "Paint the Town" event! She is a wonderful teacher!

South End Art Hop Recap - Ellen Goodrich

To finish up our series, we were completely taken with these beautiful masterpieces of light and glass by Ellen Goodrich! See more of her work on her Pinterest board (here).

Thanks for following our recap this week!

South End Art Hop Recap - Mary Jo Krolewski

We were particularly excited to find some Cheez-It Fiber art! How cool is that!? Artist Mary Jo Krolewski creates "soft" sculptures! Check out more of her work at her site (here).

South End Art Hop Recap -- Jake Rifken

I got to chat with Jake Rifken on Saturday, and I loved hearing that he creates many of his wire sculptures without using a drawing or plan. The entire process is very fluid, and he just creates for the sake of creating! He says, "There are no 'mistakes.'"

For more of Jake's art, check out his Tumblr Feed (here) and more at the S.P.A.C.E. Gallery site (here)!

South End Art Hop Recap - Katherine Taylor-McBroom

Another incredible find! Katherine Taylor-McBroom's surrealism makes my heart happy! We got to see some of her mixed media pieces at Studio 266. Her sculpture is breathtaking as well, using what appears to be dollhouse pieces to build "impossible" houses.

Check out her site (here) and Facebook page (here).

South End Art Hop Recap - Recycle Moe

Being the art-journal/notebook/paper-supply fanatic that I am, I was overly excited to run into Moe at the South End Art Hop!! She has a studio at the Space gallery in South Burlington!

Her company (Recycle Moe) recycles (up-cycles) old books, magazines, boardgames, etc. to make all kinds of vintage, lovely things, like notebooks (my favorite, of course), mini notebooks, light-switch covers, magnets, etc.! Check out the gallery on her site!

Also, click here to see all the local shops where you can find her work, OR shop online -- she has an Etsy shop (here)!

South End Art Hop

We had a fantastic Saturday at Burlington's South End Art Hop! We had a toddler in tow, so we only made 4 "hops" to local studios, but we got to see some incredible artwork! Stay tuned this week as I highlight some fantastic Vermont artists and other incredible local resources! Yeah!

Here's a little recap of our day! Check out more of our photos on Instagram! User: UrMomIsStrange, or in our KASVT Gallery!
